August 8 – Father's Day in Taiwan

Today is 8/8 - the eighth day of the eighth month of the year. And in Mandarin Chinese, one of the national languages of Taiwan, the number eight is - which is close in pronunciation to , which translates to "pa" or "dad." That means that the entire date, 8/8, is bā-bā, which is a pun for bà (or papa). 

Perhaps some families will get a chance to go somewhere beautiful. And there are a lot of beautiful places to visit on this island!
