July 16 - World Snake Day

  Posted on July 16, 2022

This is an update of my post published on July 16, 2011:

Today's the day to honor snakes!

You might already know that snakes live on every continent except Antarctica - and that some of them are among the deadliest animals on Earth. From a 32-foot-long python to a Barbados thread snake as thin as spaghetti, snakes come in all sizes -- but one limbless shape!

In other words, zero legs, zero arms, zero wings, zero flippers or fins or flukes!

How do they move with no limbs?

Check out a snake eating an egg here, and a sidewinder snake eating a lizard here, and many more snakes here (scroll down to see some photos!).

In the mood for some snake crafts? DLTK provides several ideas here.
