June 14 - Race Unity Day

Posted on June 14, 2020

(Second Sunday in June)

Stand Up to Racism is the idea behind Race Unity Day, which was started in 1957 by the U.S. Bahá'í National Spiritual Assembly.

There hasn't been a year in which the message "Stand Up to Racism" was more important and timely.

But if you think about it, EVERY year the message has been just as important and timely!

I believe that this year more people are ready to hear the message, and I hope that this year we will see big steps to take apart structural racism (aka systemic racism)!

This article has some great children's books to help start age-appropriate conversations about race and racism.

And here is an article that includes a video about systemic racism.
