November 5 - Firewood Day

Posted on November 5, 2019

There's a lot of work to use wood to heat a house or cook food. People have to cut, split, and stack wood in a place where they can keep the woodpile dry - and it's best to cut wood at least six months before you plan to burn it, to allow time to dry.

Today is Firewood Day, a day when folks are encouraged to work together to do all the work involved...

Here's a primer on how to cut and split wood.

And here's some inspiration for getting a LOT of firewood - you might just be able to join the ranks of woodpile artists!
