Happy Birthday, Sesame Street! It's the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street, as Google has let many of us know with a week's worth of special Google doodles. The popular children's television show teaches letters, numbers, colors, and all kinds of important lessons. Today is the premiere of the show's 40th season—episode 4,187!—and it will feature the letter “H,” the number “40,” and first Lady Michelle Obama! In honor of Sesame Street's birthday, watch the show—read a Muppets book—check out the official Sesame Street website—eat cake or cupcakes. http://www.sesamestreet.org/home Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch have been played all these 40 years by Caroll Spinney. He was just 35 years old when Jim Henson picked him for the roles...and now, at age 76, Spinney is still bringing to life two of the show's most popular characters. Can you imagine playing the same role for 40 years?
