The
first week of March is all about celebrating your name!
Here's
how it breaks down:
- First Sunday – Namesake Day
- First Monday – Fun Facts About Names Day
- First Tuesday – Unique Names Day
- First Wednesday – Discover What Your Name Means Day
- First Thursday – Nametag Day
- First Friday – Middle Name Pride Day
- First Saturday – Genealogy Day
Nametag
Day is a chance to talk about your name and its meaning with others
as you go through the day with one of those friendly “Hello, my
name is ___” stickers.
If
Nametags are useful at creating conversations and a warmer vibe at
conventions and reunions, why would they not increase the
friendliness level among strangers?
I read that New Yorkers have celebrated annual Nametag Days (but in June) in which they work really
hard ahead of time to get nametags into the hands of as many
residents of NYC as possible, raise awareness about the day, and urge
everyone to wear the nametags. And apparently there was a great
feeling of camaraderie!
Of course, if you are going to hold a Nametag Day, you are going to have to prepare yourself for some Inigo Montoya jokes! |
This
is something that would be easy to start in a school, business, or
town. Try it, see if it is fun!
