(a.k.a. Burma)
In
Myanmar, today is considered a blessed day in the hottest month of
the hot season: a day when Buddhists pour water on the Bodhi tree. It
was under the Bodhi tree that Prince Siddhartha was supposed to have
reached enlightenment and become the Buddha.
Parades
of people carry pots of water and flowers to the tree, chanting poems
all the while. Refreshments are served and music and dance
performances entertain the crowds.

beautiful photos of Myanmar.
