September 1 – Constitution Day in Slovakia

Posted on September 1, 2020

Since Slovakia has done so well against the coronavirus (so far!), it is possible that there will be traditional singing and dancing for today's patriotic holiday. Or maybe not!

At any rate, one tradition - the lighting of the Bratislava Castle - will probably occur to celebrate the constitution adopted on this date in 1992.

Slovakia, in red, used to be part
of Czechoslovakia.
Slovakia is a gorgeous nation in the interior of Europe. It has wonderful castles and beautiful lakes and lovely mountains and hillscapes and historical buildings and and and...! (Check out these photos.)
